Implication for practice and research
Maternity care involves complex psychosocial factors that impact perinatal outcomes; unforeseen factors, that is, pandemic adaptation, have major implications for practice, measurable by perinatal/postpartum outcomes.
Further retrospective research is needed across health services in similar developed nations to draw causal implications and incorporate a broader range of factors.
