Implications for practice and research

  • Simulation-based learning/technology is pivotal to enhancing reflective thinking in palliative care (PC).

  • Facilitators should foster reflective thinking, especially for students with limited end-of-life exposure.

  • Novice participants may benefit from directive feedback.

  • Future studies should investigate the impact of PC simulation scenarios on emotional intelligence (Emot-Int), reflective abilities and spiritual intelligence (Spirit-Int).
