Cardiovascular diseases such as coronary artery disease (CAD) and heart failure (HF) are now the leading causes of death worldwide.1 One of the important methods of addressing this issue is secondary prevention in people with existing diagnoses, therefore a major focus of cardiovascular nurses over the last few decades has been secondary prevention.
