| Interested in contributing to BMJ Clinical Evidence? |
|
|
| Clinical Evidence http://www.clinicalevidence.com is a compendium of the best available evidence for effective healthcare. It is not a textbook of medicine, nor a book of guidelines.
Clinical Evidence does not make recommendations; its sole aim is to present the state of the evidence and where there is no good evidence, it says so.
We are currently looking to recruit new contributors, peer reviewers, and advisers. You will be a clinician preferably with an epidemiological background with experience in evidence-based practice. It is important that you understand:
· The difference between a randomised controlled trial, a cohort study, and a case control study
· What makes a systematic review systematic
· What is meant by relative risk, absolute risk, number needed to treat, and confidence interval, and how these are calculated
· What is meant by a power calculation and how this relates to clinically important differences between interventions
As an adviser you will also have considerable experience in your field of expertise at an international level, as you will be involved in commissioning authors and peer reviewers, and advising on subject coverage, etc.
