Clinical guideline publications

Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO), Best Practice Guideline Collaborative Practice Among Nursing Teams (will be available by 29 January 2017).

This best practice guideline replaces the Healthy Work Environment guideline, ‘Collaborative Practice Among Nursing Teams’. It was developed to assist the registered nurse (RN), the registered practical nurse (RPN) and the nurse practitioner (NP) working collaboratively to deliver safe effective care to diverse patient populations. Nursing is a profession that requires effective interprofessional and intraprofessional relationships to provide positive outcomes for patients/clients. With the mounting evidence of the importance of these relationships this guideline examines the multiple factors relevant to intraprofessional collaborative practice among nurses that need to be considered to foster healthy work environments, quality patient care and the retention and recruitment of nurses.
