Implications for practice and research
The trial found that children who shared educational interventions with parents had an impact on the child and family salt intake.
Educational programmes to help reduce salt intake could assist in decreasing the prevalence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in China.
Further research needs to be undertaken to explore if similar educational programmes could be successfully implemented in different countries and contexts.
